How it works
- Day 0 — you email us your business name, shipping address, website or Instagram, the matcha drinks you serve, the milk you use, and roughly how many matcha drinks you make in a week
- Within 24 hours — we confirm the two grades we are sending and why
- Within 48 hours — the kit ships from Dallas by USPS; most addresses receive it in 2 to 4 days
- Arrival day — you get a short email with the brewing card and what to look for in the cup
- A few days later — a 30-minute tasting call, or written Q&A if the time zones do not line up
- Then — a landed quote. First orders ship from Japan and can combine two grades
Who qualifies
US food and beverage businesses: cafés, coffee shops, boba and tea shops, restaurants, bakeries, and retailers. We ask for a business name, address, and a website or social account. Not open yet? Ask about the paid starter kit with all five drink grades; the cost is credited against your first order.
Compare before you sample
Check the quantity, shipping cost, product details, and purchase requirements. See our comparison of 12 sample programs.
- Size: 10 to 30 g per grade is the norm. 10 g is about 5 drinks; 20 g is enough to whisk it straight, test two milks, and have staff taste it. We send 20 g per grade as two sealed 10 g sachets.
- Cost: some suppliers give samples free only with a first order above a threshold, some charge and credit the amount back on your first purchase, some ask you to call. Ours are free for US food and beverage businesses with no order required and no credit card.
- Where it ships from: Japan-based suppliers ship internationally, which usually means a week or more in transit and customs. US warehouses ship in days. Our kits are sealed and labeled in Japan, then held in Dallas, Texas and shipped within 48 hours.
- What you learn from it: most sample pouches tell you the grade name and little else. Every one of ours carries the origin, harvest, cultivar, lot number, and milling date, so you can compare it against your current supplier on facts rather than the label.
- What happens next: a good program follows up with a tasting call and a landed quote, not a sales sequence. We do one short call, then send pricing.
Sample program FAQ
Are the matcha samples really free?
Yes, for US food and beverage businesses. Cafés, coffee shops, boba shops, restaurants, and retailers receive the sample kit and shipping at no charge. We ask for your business details so we can match the grades to your menu.
How much matcha is in a sample kit?
Two grades chosen for your drinks, two sealed 10 g sachets of each, for 40 g in total. Each grade gives you 8 to 10 drinks at a standard 2 g dose, enough to whisk it straight, test it in two milks, and have your team taste it.
How fast do samples arrive?
We reply within 24 hours and ship from our Dallas, Texas stock within 48 hours by USPS. Most US addresses receive the kit in 2 to 4 days.
What happens after I taste the samples?
We schedule a short tasting call, answer questions about the lots, and send a landed wholesale quote. First orders ship from Japan and can combine two grades so you can stock a latte base and a ceremonial grade at the same time.
Do I need to place an order first to get samples?
No. There is no order threshold and no credit card. Samples are free for verified US food and beverage businesses. Wholesale pricing comes after the tasting, not before.
Do you send samples to individuals or home users?
The free kit is for businesses. If you are planning an opening or want to try the full lineup at home, ask about the paid starter kit with all five drink grades; its cost is credited against a first wholesale order.
